APHEX TWIN - ANALORD 10 (2005)

This is it folks....Analord 10 is finally made available to public consumption (following on from original copies only available to a priviledged few who bought the analord binder back in January)..and this time it's pressed up as a picture disc baring the legendary Aphex insignia! The tracks are the same as the original pressing - "Fenix Funk5" on the a-side and "Xmd5a" on the flip. What you waiting for??!!?!

i have heard the bootleg press of analord and it is "analog" hence the name analord...he uses analog synths on the first release obviously from what it sounds like and im guessing since its entitled analord the following will also be with the same synths... listen to analogue bubblebath 5 and youll see what i mean. no software could ever reproduce the imperfect sound of his analog equipment

As the penultimate single in the Analord series, AFX (Aphex Twin) has pulled out all the stops on this classic electro-acid hybrid picture disc 12?.

A-side Fenix Funk 5 is a bastard combination of old school synthesizers, rapid slaughterous beats and demonised vocoder vocals that owe far more to his earlier (acclaimed) work than the recent disappointing sludge of Druqks. After the headfuck acid stabs and beats breakdown towards the close of the track, those infamous and instantly recognisable melodies and pleasant synths reinforce the fact that A) he still has it no matter what they and B) Richard D James will undoubtedly go on to become one of the most influential musicians of our time. Fact.

Xmd5a on the B-side is far more approachable, relying mainly on subtle beats but with a huge emphasis on playful synths, bouncing rhythms and tight sequencing. If you are new to the series get your head out of the sand, this is some of the finest and brilliantly produced electro madness we?ve been in need of for ages.

ANALORD 11

And so... the final (?) installment of the analord saga. Its been quite
a ride, and dick james has proven once again that he is the master of
inconsistancy. We have heard absolute gems in the form of "XMD5A",
"Crying In Your Face", "Phonatacid", and "PWSteal.Ldpinch.D". And of
course, we've had some absolute stinkers (namely anything from analord
6, and most tracks on analord 3, and 9).

There is still the question of that extra pocket in the analord
binder.... another release perhaps, or maybe just space for the analord
10 reissue that should be appearing sometime soon. I guess we'll find
out shortly.
