Preguntas de un gringo

Postby Tronik » 25 Sep 2007

Hola, no escribo español bien.

Gracias Tronik

hey man, most of the ppl on this forum speak english so feel free to write on it. The EDM scene down here is pretty good, but you will need to contact ppl down here with some time in advance cuz it isn't that easy to get a date on a club.

Hey Frax, really appreciate the reply.

I'm not looking for a gig, although, if someone is having an event, I'd play for nothing if it would help them bring in some extra cash for the local guys. I know how it is and anyone who would give this green traveller to CR some guidance on the scene that would really be appreciated and I would return the offer any way I could.

On a scale of 1-10, I can read about 4, write about 3, and speak about 5. In any case, if anyone is interested in meeting up for a day, I'd take care of dinner/drinks for that time or whatever else I can exchange.

Because of my reading level, I lose every 3rd word or so, that's why I need some pointers and perhaps a little hand holding. If anyone comes to the US, I'm in the boston area and would reciprocate the exchange of information. I can also get you gigs...if you've got skills. I've judged some of the technics regionals over the years. ;)

Again, thanks for just responding, I thought I was getting the cold shoulder due to my nationality. I just want to get a taste of the local flavor, styles, and vibe.

What is the most regular weekly you have? (city)

Are there any parties to check out in the next two weeks? (point to a thread, por favor)

Are there any DJ equipment/record/music stores I should visit?

I would love to meet the local flavor. Don't be shy, let's build some bridges.

thanks

We are waaaay behind in that area my friend, nothing that will make a big impression.

The Costarican electronic scene is divided in 3 areas... House (and sub-genres), Psy trance (sub-genres as well) and Drum'n'Bass.

There's lots of parties coming this month and I believe november, on the house Scene, vertigo, which is the biggest club in CR is bringing Seb Fontaine on the 18th.

Tommy Lee is now a Dj? (wtf) and he's playing at some club in Escazu...

October the 20th we have Wizack Twizack coming from Sweeden!

And also on the 27th we have From Brazil, Baphomet Engine :146:

I do not know of anything from the D'n'B crew...

Grant, ud sabe de alguna fiesta Drum and Bass en estos dias?

Arigato

Tommy Lee....I guess someone still has to pay the bills. heheh

No store huh? Ugh. I figured that would be the only place to pick up some fliers.

I guess I'll dig around the forums and use a translator for what I don't know. Thanks for the pointers to everyone who responded, it really does help.

I'll keep checking this thread for the next few days for any more responses. When I arrive, I'll drop a note here. I'm renting a phone, so if anyone wants to connect, PM me for privacy.

thanks again
